Abstract

To determine the effect of adding the PAF into the culture medium to prepare and activate the semen samples of non-male factor infertility (normal semen analyses). This study was carried out in the Infertility Unit, AL-Hussein Teaching Hospital, Al-Nassirya City, through the period from 30th of October 2020 till 17th of April 2021. The study included thirty couples who are complaining from infertility (they failed to conceive after one year at least of regular unprotected intercourse. The frequency distribution of enrolled infertile men with normozoospermia Baseline characteristics of seminal fluid analysis of males with normozoospermia those with PAF are Semen volume ml, pH, Sperm concentration before million/ml, Sperm motility %,morphologically normal sperm % , were Mean ±SD (3.10 ±1.23, 7.39 ±0.03, 46.67 ±15.31, 1.33 ±3.52, 36.00 ±5.07) respectively. Certain sperm parameters were highly improved after in vitro activation by PAF medium of normozoospermic samples

She received her MBChB from the college of medicine at the University of Basrah in 1997. She worked as a rotator in the Thi-Qar health department from 1997 -2006 when completing the DGO from the University of Baghdad in 2006, till 2012 when she moved to work at Thi-Qar University, nursing college. In 2019-2021 she received M.Sc. in Applied Embryology from the High Institute of Infertility Diagnosis and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, Al Nahrain University.

Saad AL-Dujaily, High Institute of Infertility Diagnosis and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, Al Nahrain University, Baghdad, Iraq.

He is a Specialist in Clinical Reproductive Physiology, Assisted Reproductive Technologies, and Andrology(Lab.) He introduced for the first time worldwide a new method of insemination termed as mice intra-bursal insemination in 1997. He supervised more than 70 Ph.D., M.Sc, and High Diploma postgraduate theses. He published 100 articles in the field of ART, andrology and Then he used the mice oviductal fluid medium for IVF procedure and Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). First MSc. Student was a graduate of the IVF Institute his research was on the ICSI program. Many sperm function tests and lab assessments were first done in Iraq through Prof . Al-Dujaily e.g Endz peroxidase test, direct anti-sperm antibody, Kruger strict criteria, HOST, PCT, and others. Moreover, his researches on the IVF media mixed with extract of herbal plants such as Glycyrrhiza glabra, Citrullus colocynthis, and others, the results were revealed a significant improvement in sperm function parameters, the rates of good oocytes quality, embryonic development, and grades with no harmful effects on the DNA normality. Regarding his work and research in gender selection, he did a modification in the techniques and media used and the results of PR for infertile couples were similar to fertile ones. Three articles were published on this subject. He had two innovations
1-Effect of using Glycyrrhiza glabra extract on in vitro sperm activation. No. 4910 in 19.4.2017.
2-Prediction of polycystic ovary syndrome in Iraqi women through polymorphism genes (HHX ,TCF7L2)and INSR that responsible of insulin secretion No.5435 in 25/7/2018.
Recently different new female reproductive hormones and implantation markers were included in his research studies such as activin A, fibrillin -3, follistatin, Heparin-binding epidermal growth factor, granulocyte macrophage -colony-stimulating factor, Glycodeline, and others.
